I’ve had a passion for creativity for as long as I can remember so it was no surprise that learning the art of sign writing was my chosen career path. As a youngster, a school mate’s Father was an inspiration source and later offered me the opportunity to learn the craft.
It’s fair to say that the aroma of oil paints, linseed oil and turps remain with me to this day and it’s a smell I can’t get enough of. Attention to detail was the foremost lesson learnt and years were spent striving to perfect the skills taught to me.
A desire to create artwork has never waned and as such, undertaking painting in more recent times is for me a method by which I can continue to practice these skills in this modern digital era.
The habits built from forming an eye for detail have flowed into my artwork. I enjoy the challenge of painting in a realist style, endeavouring to capture as much detail as possible in my work. I also enjoy painting many different subject styles in an effort to broaden my skills.
